Part II - Ministry Update

Brethren & Friends:

The past two months, the LORD has been very gracious in allowing me to have ministered His Word in different ways to a good number of people that God has allowed me to meet along life’s path. I say the Christian life is an exciting life to live for as long as one lives with eternity in mind and with the perspective of deliberately, intentionally seeking to daily fulfill & obey the Great Commission of our Saviour Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).

December 6, 2008 was my flight from Newark, NJ to St. Paul, Minneapolis. Joel & Gensie Javelosa of Jersey City, precious brother & sister in Christ, brought me to Newark Int’l Airport and gave me much help on my return to the Philippines. Started to witness to the person pushing my wheelchair. Lo & behold, he is a believer in Christ our LORD. Got to pray for him & his family that morning. Gave this brother a generous tip. What an opportunity to encourage and strengthen a fellow pilgrim in this world (Galatians 6:9-10).

Arriving in St. Pauls, Minneapolis Int’l Airport, witness to the young man who drove the shuttle I took to bring me to the NWA gate for my connecting flight to Japan. Pointed him to the One who can save him to the uttermost and help him even in this earthly life. Gave him a good tip.

I then called my colleague & fellow chaplain Rev.V. E. Gonzales of Adonai Seafarers Fellowship, Inc. We got to pray for one another and to commit one another & the ministry of ASF to the One who has called us to reach the seafarers (majority of whom are Filipinos) with the Pure Gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:6-9).

While waiting for our flight to Japan, I had the privileged to witness to two Filipina at St. Pauls Int’l Airport. I confronted them with their need to be born again (John 3:7). In answer to my prayer to the LORD that day to lead me to whom He wants me to give a copy of my “Imperative of the New Birth” which I had in my bag, I gave the same to this Filipina named Mrs. Marcos (she was kind of hesitant to give me her name).

From Japan on to Manila. My flight arrived almost midnight of Dec. 7th. Got to witness to the Filipino guy who helped me with my wheelchair & baggages. Gave him a good tip.

My wife Dell & daughter Mynes & Levi, my son-in-law picked me up at the NAIA.
It is good to be back and be with my family. Praise God.

The following days, in answer to prayer, the LORD has graciously given me the privilege of preaching in a full gospel church in Marulas, Valenzuela City Dec. 21, 2008. Ate Lita, a member & prayer warrior of the All For Jesus Fellowship in Jersey City wanted me to preach in her home church in Marulas, Valenzuela City, telling me that she already made the arrangements with the founding pastor. She gave me her son-in-law’s telephone and I met John Bautista second week of December in Shakey’s Pizza, Katipunan in front of Ateneo University. This brother as we were ordering started to witness to a young waitress and both of us pointed her to the LORD. I was encouraged and challenged by the life of this man. He asked me when I can come to preach in their church. I said when do you want me to come. He said that Sunday Dec. 21st.

Had a wonderful day ministering God’s Words in Miracle Life International Fellowship. God’s children were so open and receptive as I preached on “God’s Prescription for Success & Prosperity” based on Joshua 1:8 & Psalm 1:1-3 for an hour. Prayed for all who came forward and for the whole church.

Had lunch with John’s family. Then, in the afternoon, shared the Gospel with his eldest brother, the wife, sister & sister-in-law. These four confronted with their need to repent & believe on the LORD Jesus and receive Him as Savior & LORD (Mark 1:15; John 1:12), eagerly put their trust & faith in Christ. Praise God.

Sunday, January 18 brought me to San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan at the Carissa Christian Fellowship, a Wesleyan church led by Lay Pastor Jun Cordovilla. The church meets in a townhouse owned by Pastor Jun about 4 meters wide & 8 meters long. Many children come from the surrounding area like Palmera Homes & Carissa Subdivision.
This is my 3rd time to preach in CCF. The 1st two in 2007. The worship team led the people into the presence of the LORD. By the time I was to preach, their hearts & minds were ready to listen, receive and believe God’s Words. Preached on “God’s Desire-His Perfect Will” based on Romans 12:1-2 with such a sense of freedom knowing that the Holy Spirit has already prepared the hearts of His people.

CCF is one of three Philippine Wesleyan Churches under the National Central District that are participating in the Childrens’ Scripture Memorization Program I initiated. A total of 12 children (10 girls/2 boys) are regularly memorizing God’s Words that I have assigned for them to master. An incentive is being given to these children: P5.00 for every verse memorized.

I had the joy, after a sumptuous lunch, to hear from these children as they quoted God’s Words out loud in the presence of Pastor Jun and the church leaders. I gave that Sunday, on top of what they already received, a bonus just for the joy of seeing them learn & memorize God’s precious Words from the KJV of the Bible. Encouraged these children to go on throughout the year memorizing Scriptures (Psalm 119:11) for God will grant & produce in them wisdom, knowledge & understanding even success and prosperity in their lifetime (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:1-3).

February 1st brought me to Cainta Wesleyan Church on the invitation of Rev.Vic Oximas, Pastor of CWC. Preached on “God’s Plan for the Family” that is anchored on God’s Precious Words, the Bible.

God’s people were deeply touched, challenged, blessed & obviously convicted by the Holy Spirit thru the preaching of His Words, as they expressed their agreement after the worship service to this preacher. Praise the LORD for the privilege of ministering His Words to His people. CWC is the 2nd church participating in the Childrens’ Scripture Memorization Program with six children (4 girls & 2 boys).

Last Sunday, February 8th, preached at the 11th Church Anniversary of Sta. Maria Wesleyan Church, Bulacan with Pastor Roel Cruz. This is my 3rd time to preach in this church. The 1st two in 2007. Preached with all my heart on the “Faithfulness of God” Anchored on God’s Words.

The church prepared much food. Everyone who came were hosted to a buffet-like lunch. Not only did God’s people eat “spiritual food” but were also filled with physical food.
Truly Great is His Faithfulness.

PRAYER REQUEST:

My hearts desire and prayer is that the LORD would be gracious to continue opening doors for me to minister His Words to many everywhere through the ministry of preaching and teaching His Precious Words.
