FRIEND:

Christmas is all about the LORD Jesus Christ, the Saviour of Sinners like you and I. He took upon human flesh 2000 years ago so that man who is lost in sin because he is a sinner, might have eternal life, that is salvation. How was this made possible?

"My Saviour" is a very remarkable way for a mother to refer to her son. Because Mary was born in sin and shared the sin of the human race, she too needed a Saviour. When she heard that she was to be the mother of the Son of God, she rejoiced and she sang this beautiful song of wonder and praise called "The Magnificat," from the word "magnify" used in the opening line of this hymn of praise.

Every person therefore must have the same awareness of one's sinfulness (Romans 3:9-10, 23) as Mary, the human instrument used of God Almighty to bring the Saviour the LORD Jesus Christ in human flesh. She not only recognized but acknowledged that she too was a sinner, therefore in need of a Saviour. But the realization in her heart and mind that the One who was in her womb was the promised Saviour brought rejoicing in her heart. This too must be our response of gratitude and praise to Him who is Emmanuel, "God with us."

And so Christmas is about Jesus, meaning Jehovah (God) the Saviour. Let our hearts be filled with gratitude for all eternity to Him who saved His people from their sins. Amen!

The question though reader is: Who is Jesus Christ to you? Is He your Saviour and LORD of your life? Surrender and Yield to Him now in this lifetime which will last for eternity in His Heavenly Kingdom. Conversely, if you reject Him and His great salvation, you will experience an eternal separation from Him and be punished for all eternity in the "lake that burneth with fire and brimstone which is the second death." Rev. 21:8 KJV.

HOW IS YOUR CHURCH KNOWN?


HOW IS YOUR CHURCH KNOWN IN YOUR COMMUNITY?

Is it important how a local church is known in the community where the church is located? Does a particular sign impacts the lives of people? The writer believes so without apology.

One member of our church before she and her husband joined Cainta Wesleyan Church was in truth and in fact attracted, led of the LORD by His Holy Spirit to come into the church that opportune day many years back because she saw such a sign. From that day on, this couple has become faithful followers of the LORD Jesus Christ.

Recently, our church through its Local Board of Administration made a unanimous decision to have a sign placed in front of the church facade. Our intent is to boldly make known to all who sees the sign, that Cainta Wesleyan Church is “A BIBLE BELIEVING AND CHRIST CENTERED CHURCH”!

Thus the sign was made and set in place so that all who pass by our church and sees the sign will know that we are such a church, yes, a Bible Believing and Christ Centered Church because we are Bible Believers and that the LORD Jesus Christ is the center of its existence.

This action of our church is a Bold, Confident and Uncompromising Stand to make known to all, whatever religious affiliations or beliefs they have, that Cainta Wesleyan Church is a church that exists for the “praise, honor and glory of our God and Saviour the LORD Jesus Christ and His Precious Pure Words”!

 We are a church comprised of men and women, young and old alike who are not ashamed to make known to all that there is only One Way To Heaven and that is through the Gospel of our LORD Jesus Christ alone!
John 14:6

6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

And that all other way(s), whether religious or otherwise will lead men after physical death straight to a place called hell, the “lake that burneth with fire and brimstone which is the second death” (Rev. 21:8; 20:10 KJV).
And this is without apology to anyone.

We want to faithfully adhere and follow the mandate of Jesus Christ our LORD in:
Matthew 10:32-33

SALVATION IS OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

I) INTRODUCTION: The name God these days is “generic”. Everybody speaks of God. But the question is: who is the God people are talking of. Does all speak of the One and Only True God? That is the question!

II) WHO IS GOD? There is ONLY ONE and TRUE God. Not two or more. This One and Only True God is the God of the Holy Bible. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The God of Moses and Joshua. The God of King David and all of the Old testament Prophets. He is the Creator of heaven and earth and everything that was ever created. Now, the God of the Holy Bible is a Just, Holy & Righteous God yet is Forgiving, Gracious, Loving & Merciful. These are the two sides of the character of God mentioned in Holy Scriptures. To emphasize one side and neglect the other is half truth. And half truth is no truth at all. Now, the God of the Bible is described in Holy Scriptures as:


1> God is a Consuming Fire – Deut. 4:24; 9:3; Heb. 12:29
2> God is a Wrathful God – Ps. 90:7; Isa. 13:9; Hab. 3:2; Matt. 3:7; Romans 2:5; 1 Thes. 5:9
Rev. 6:16;
He is Angry with the Wicked – Psalm 7:11
3> God is a Fearful God – Matthew 10:28; Hebrews 10:31

III) MAN’S SPIRITUAL CONDITION BEFORE THIS HOLY, JUST & RIGHTEOUS GOD!

FIVE (5) ABSOLUTE TRUTHS TRUE TO EVERY PERSON:
1> Man is a SINNER – Romans 3:9-10; 23
2> Man who is a Sinner, his spiritual heart is DECEITFUL – Jeremiah 17:5
3> Man who is a Sinner, his spiritual heart is ROTTEN – Mark 7:21-23
4> Man who is a Sinner, is a “Child of the Devil” – John 8:44; compare 1 John 3:8 & 10
5> Man who is a Sinner, is Spiritually Dead, though physically alive – Ephesians 2:1

IV) GOD’S PLAN FOR SINFUL MAN:

1> That all men may be saved – John 3:16-18
2> But this salvation is ONLY THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST ALONE – John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-10

V) MAN’S RESPONSE:
Repent and Believe the Gospel – Mark 1:15. Define GOSPEL – Galatians 1:6-9 What & Who is the Object of this Gospel? The Pure Gospel is the True Gospel taught and preached by the Apostle Paul; The Gospel is all about the LORD Jesus Christ: His death, burial and resurrection (1 Cor. 15:1-4 KJV). This alone is the True Gospel. All others are counterfeit and will damn men straight to hell. There must be no "addition" or "subtraction" made on this True Gospel such as the additions made by Roman Catholicism about Mary and the saints or the subtraction made by groups like the INK & Jehovah's Witnesses which teaches that Jesus Christ is only a man. Such is damnable and false teaching. When heeded by men, will condemn them to the "lake that burneth with fire and brimstone which is the second death" (Rev. 21:8; 20:10 KJV). The LORD Jesus Christ is the God-Man, truly divine and truly human.

That all men may come to repentance. God Demands Biblical Repentance!

1> Genuine Repentance (speaks of sin that must be repented of and Faith in the LORD Jesus Christ is Imperative. These two are like Siamese twins, inseparables – Acts 20:21; 1 Cor. 6:9-11; Rev. 21:8;

2> Man Must Decide and Make a Choice. His choice will determine where he goes after physical death: Heaven or Hell (Hebrews 9:27; Rev. 21:8 cp 20:10).

CONCLUSION: Therefore, YOU MUST MAKE A DECISION: To repent or not to repent; to believe or not to believe. This is the choice one has to make that will determine one’s eternal destiny, heaven or hell and affect every area of his earthly life.

IS HEALING GOD'S WILL FOR THE CHILD OF GOD?

Brethren:

Our God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ never does anything for and on behalf of His Authentic, Genuine, True Born Again (John 3:1-7)Children, saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8-10) and redeemed by the BLOOD of the Lamb (Hebrews 9:12, 14,22)that is contrary, inconsistent and not in agreement with His Precious Pure Words.

God the Father cannot do anything that is against His Revealed Words in the Holy Scriptures. When He has spoken and what He has said is written and laid out in the pages of Holy Scriptures and they are, then Believer in the LORD Jesus, Child of God, you can bet your life on it. This is true in every area of our lives whether physical or spiritual.

It is so in the matter of healing. In this posting in my blog, I am doing a teaching session on how an authentic, genuine & true believer in the LORD Jesus Christ can lay hold of and experience healing.

First, Healing is of the LORD because sickness is of Satan (Acts 10:38). Study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. The LORD Jesus in the Gospels, met people who were sick and afflicted who came to Him for healing. And the four testified to the fact that Jesus healed them.
Therefore, we can make a conclusion even now that healing is God’s Will for His children. And this can be proven by the Scriptures attached to this blog and email.

Second, we need to ask a basic question: What is God’s Will? Let us try and simplify things. I will define it with this statement:

“The Holy Bible is God’s Precious Pure Words. God’s Precious Pure Words is God’s Will”. When I know what the Holy Bible says, I know God’s Will because the Holy Bible is God’s revelation of His Will. Therefore, “Know the Bible Know God’s Will”!

The person who does not know God’s Precious Pure Words, because of ignorance or lack of knowledge, cannot know God’s Will. And this is true in all areas of life. You cannot expect God to be at work on your behalf without the knowledge of His Precious Pure Words.

By the way, child of God, do you want your prayers to be always answered? See 1 John 5:13-15). This is the assurance of one who makes sure that everything one brings to His Father in Jesus name (John 16:23) is consistent, in agreement and in line with God’s Precious Pure Words. Why? Because it is God’s Will.

Beware of Hosea 4:6a! Don’t be caught lacking knowledge of God’s Precious Pure Words, not only about healing but in every area of your need, for it is synonymous with rejecting (John 12:48) God’s Precious Pure Words.

6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee….

Let us continue. Remember well the following statement:
"I am not moved by what I feel or what I see. I am only moved by what I believe and I believe the WORD OF GOD!" (Smith Wigglesworth)

Third, I strongly suggest that you the reader study & memorize the following Confession. Make sure to Daily Declare, Speak & Verbalize God's Precious Pure Words (Only King James Version Bible) because you believe them with your heart (Romans 10:9-10) and Obey/Do (Luke 11:28; James 1:22) them. Love God’s Precious Pure Words and hide them in your heart (Psalm 119:11; Proverbs 4:20-23).

Bring them daily before the hearing of God's ears (Numbers 14:28) and the LORD will make to come to pass His PRECIOUS PURE WORDS on your behalf without fail in time. I have done this for many years and still do this daily in my own life and on behalf of my household day by day. I have experienced the Truth and reality of this teaching based on God's Precious Pure Words in my own life and in the lives of many to whom I have ministered God’s Precious Pure Words.

And because the LORD is not a liar (Numbers 23:19; Titus 1:2), GUARANTEED IN JESUS NAME, if you do what I have done and continue to do daily, you will experience the goodness and faithfulness of Jesus Christ our LORD not only in the area of need for healing but in many others! Let every man be a liar including this writer but never the God of Holy Scriptures.

Daily again and again make this declaration:

MY DAILY CONFESSION: "Therefore, because the LORD is my Jehovah-Rapha (Exodus 15:26b), I declare that I am healed and strong in Jesus name. Himself, my LORD Jesus, took my infirmities, even cancer or any disease and by His stripes I am healed (Isaiah 53:4-5). In Christ I live and move and have my being (Acts 17:28a);

I bless Him like King David did in Psalm 103:1-3: "Bless the LORD oh my soul & all that is within me.Bless His holy name. Who forgiveth all thine (mine)iniquities; Who healeth all thine (mine)diseases".
Hallelujah! Praise the name of the LORD!

Thank You Father God that you are the "strength of my heart & my portion forever" (Psalm 73:26b);
Thank You for "sending Your Word that healed me & delivered me from all destructions" (Psalm 107:20-21);
Thank You that "I shall not die (before my time) but live and declare the works of the LORD" (Psalm 118:17-18);

Father, I appropriate by faith (Romans 1:16-17; Romans 10:17; Gal. 3:11; Hebrews 10:38-39) the full days that You planned for me to live in this earth (Genesis 6:3; Psalm 90:10) not one day less in Jesus mighty name (Phil. 2:9-10); I will not, no never, will I be bedridden because of any disease or sickness by the grace and mercy of my LORD;

Rather, I am alive & well, up & about my feet, healthy & strong in the mighty & powerful name of my LORD Jesus Christ, whose I am and whom I serve until He comes again or calls me home to heaven!
And I will declare with my lips and tongue (Proverbs 18:20-21; Mark 11:23) Your goodness and faithfulness in my life "for the praise and honor and glory of HIM (Ephesians 1:12) who is my God and Saviour, my LORD Jesus Christ! Amen & Amen!

BRETHREN, believe God with all of your heart for the impossible: for "He is the God of the Impossible!"
Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Luke 18:27
27And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

And so BELIEVE! Do not doubt for HIS WORDS are TRUE!
By the way, Child of God, you can do this too in other areas of need in your life like money & finance, relationships and many more. What you need to do is learn and fill your heart and mind with God’s Precious Pure Words regarding the matter that concerns you. Then apply the principles I taught in this lesson.

EXTRA MONEY ANYONE?

Dear Christian Worker:

Do you ever think of ways to possibly help add to your limited financial resources? Or are you one of those in ministry who have “more than enough” when it comes to finances/money?

Most of those in so-called “full time ministry” find themselves short of finances. I for one, at this time in my Christian life, desire to be able to earn ADDITIONAL money to help fulfill the mandate of the LORD upon my life as an Evangelist and fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20 KJV). To many, the need is to help meet the pressing family needs like food, clothing and education for their children.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not questioning ones faith in the ability of the LORD to provide for His workers in the ministry. I believe though that we can trust the LORD to lead us to some legitimate and clean ways and means of raising money to help finance the work of the ministry and help meet the needs of God’s called servants.

Once, a few years ago in Brooklyn, New York, I asked a Christian African-American lady whether ministers and workers in the LORD’s vineyard needs money to be able to do works of ministry? She categorically replied ‘NO’. I then gave her an example to counter her answer.

I said that if I need to be in Jersey City, New Jersey to visit and minister to the spiritual needs, say, of a Christian family, I must be able to go to their home. Now, coming from Brooklyn, New York City, I definitely need money for gasoline in order for my van to bring me to New Jersey. I also need toll money to go through the NYC tunnels or bridges. And I said that in almost all aspects of ministry, "MONEY IS NEEDED AND MONEY DOES NOT FALL FROM HEAVEN".

I believe that with the advent of modern technology and the indispensable use of computers from anywhere in the world, there are legitimate ways of earning clean, good money to help God’s workers fund their family and ministry logistical needs and requirements.

I believe that I have found a way to help me just do this. The good thing about it is that I need not shell out any money. I need only give a little of my time to do what the program says I have to do using the computer.

And then trust the LORD to possibly bring some money into my pocket to enable me to do two things: travel as an Itinerant Evangelist all over the Philippines without anyone being burdened to shoulder my travelling expenses and have some money to give to those who are in need as I minister God’s Precious Pure Word to them wherever the LORD leads me (Psalm 112; Galatians 6:9-10 KJV).

JESUS CHRIST IS THE BREAD OF LIFE

“I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE” – JESUS CHRIST
Text: John 6:25-59

Deuteronomy 8:3 – “that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.”

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.”

INTRODUCTION: Bread is food for the body, that is, physical bread made of flour and other necessary ingredients. One can live literally on bread alone with water from day to day and physically live. The people in the context of John 6 where those who experienced the feeding of the five thousand excluding women & children .

They wanted for the LORD to continually supply and feed them with loaves of bread. They did not understand Him when He said: “I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE”. He meant another kind of Bread, that is, spiritual bread. This kind of Bread is able to meet man’s greatest need. The need for their sins to be forgiven; to become rightly related with the LORD; become God’s children and receive the gift of eternal life; the assurance of heaven as one’s eternal abode after physical death. This is the end result of one who “eats” The Bread of Life, even the LORD Jesus Christ!

Yet, this is not what the LORD obviously meant when He said to the crowd: “Man shall not live by bread alone.” He was not referring to loaves of bread baked out of the oven. What He meant was about “Spiritual Bread”, the kind that produces a relationship between a Holy God and Sinful Man and grants eternal life to the one who “partakes” of this “Spiritual Bread”.

NOW WHAT IS THIS BREAD?

1) This “spiritual bread” which is the “True Bread” comes from heaven. And
the Source of this True Bread is God the Father (John 6:32);

2) This “Spiritual Bread” is the bread of God, who cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world (John 6:33 cp v. 38, 50 & 58);

3) John 6:35 - Identifies WHO the Bread of Life is! No other than The LORD Jesus Christ is “The Bread of Life” by His own admission and declaration when He said: I AM the Bread of Life;

4) To partake of the Bread of Life, who is the LORD Jesus Christ, is to “BELIEVE ON HIM, that is, on Jesus Christ! Such belief on the LORD Jesus Christ results in a person having everlasting life (John 6:40 cp v. 47);

5) This Bread of Life, who is the LORD Jesus Christ, is The Living Bread!
The person who “eats” this Living Bread” shall live forever (John 6:51);

6) In John 6:56 & 58 – the LORD SAID: “He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.”

The person who “EATS” this Spiritual Bread, which is the True Bread of Life, the Living Bread, who is the LORD JESUS, is the person who BELIEVES ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AS ONE’S PERSONAL SAVIOR AND LORD! (Mark 1:15; John 1:12-13; 3:16-18; 36; 5:24; 14:6; Acts 3:19; 4:12; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 2:8-10).

Such AUTHENTIC, GENUINE and TRUE BELIEF on the LORD Jesus Christ results in a changed and transformed life. The person becomes a new creature in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17); a follower of the LORD, thus becoming a disciple of the LORD Jesus Christ and a student (2 Timothy 2:15)of His Precious Pure Words, the Holy Bible, for the rest of one’s physical life.

A GENUINE BIBLICAL HOLY SPIRIT CONVERSION

Friend:

When was the last time you read of a genuine biblical Holy Spirit inspired conversion experience that touched your heart? Read the conversion testimony of the writer of the Hymn "NO ONE EVER CARED FOR ME LIKE JESUS"!
Here is the lyrics of this hymn that most professing christians has not even heard of because of the proliferation of so-called gospel music with their lyrics that are watered down in their theological and biblical content.

A BIBLICAL CONVERSION EXPERIENCE

A Biblical Conversion Experience

When we think of “keeping the kids,” salvation is foundational. I was amazed at how few of the 250 responses to our questionnaire mentioned this as a factor, but it is absolutely essential.

Some who did emphasize this point wrote with great conviction. Consider the following examples:

“The biggest reason why so many ‘Christian’ youth are not present after reaching adulthood is they are not saved. I graduated in a class of 12 from a ‘respected’ Baptist Christian school in southern Virginia. From those 12, who by the way were praised as the best class from this institution in years, some were missionary kids, pastor’s kids, and deacon’s kids. After 10 years only two were still attending church, and I was the only one working in a ministry. What happened to the others? In a nutshell, drugs, sex, music, cults, and no remorse! All but one was planning upon attending a Christian College, and did, but only two graduated and the others dropped out. I have had contact with many of them, and the stories are all too redundant. They graduated and when the MAN-MADE restraints were removed they plunged into sin and have not to this date returned. All leaders can share similar stories. However, no one seems to think about their lost condition! ‘But, little Johnny prayed and accepted Christ when he was in Sunday School!’ Was his sin dealt with? Or was he just told something like this, ‘You want to go to Heaven one day, right?’ Everyone wants to go to Heaven! But not everyone wants to deal with his sin! Thus, many thousands of ‘decisions’ are made, and they are not made biblically. Child after child goes off to camp, is convicted of some sin, told to come pray about it, and talk it over. In this sequence, the child is told that he has done wrong and urged to make a decision to do right. Children make these decisions and go off in their lostness, fail, and become hardened and bitter. If the law of God is not applied so that there is personal conviction of sin, that child will never see the horrible aspect of his sin. He will be flippant about it! After all, he is going to heaven one day because he prayed a prayer, or believes in God. See how that transpired in James 2:19 and elsewhere in the New Testament. Christ and his followers sought to bring conviction of sin. Consider the Rich Young Ruler in Matthew 19. The problem is created by those teachers, pastors, parents, and leaders who do not deal with sin when salvation is approached. After the ‘prayer,’ salvation is never questioned and the child is dealt with as a fleshly or carnal Christian, even though no fruit has ever been present proving salvation. Christ is victorious, and a fruitless scenario should not take place if Christ is present (Romans 8)!”

“A certain percentage simply say a prayer and conform to get along and then show their real self once they are on their own. I believe that in our children’s ministries we push for ‘professions of faith’ and the children/youth respond by emotion, peer-pressure, guilt trip, etc., and not with true repentance. Then they just hang on to that little ‘prayer.’”

“I believe the key is salvation with our youth. Most churches are just social clubs, and holiness and godliness are not the theme. Salvation brings a change in a person that leads them toward the Lord and away from worldliness. For a true believer, his faith affects all areas of life. Our faith should be obvious to those who are without.”

“We all need to be doing a better job in teaching and explaining what it means to be saved. We have watered down salvation to the point where I believe that a high percentage of our children and teenagers have never been genuinely saved. (I think this might also be a concern with a higher than I would like to admit percentage of our adults as well.) Seeing kids genuinely saved would without a doubt lead to a lower dropout rate among the young adults and teens.”

“We need to stop kidding ourselves about true conversion by counting all those who have said a prayer. Instead, we should look for fruit from those who have truly repented. The race to throw them in the baptistry when they don't even know what sin is, is why we have so many false conversions.”

“Many have been swept into the ‘damnable heresy’ that teaches repentance is not necessary for salvation.”

“I wish pastors and people would stop telling our children to say a little prayer and be saved. Salvation is change of mind, not a prayer. God tells us to choose who we will serve. Christ saves us, not a prayer. We make salvation nothing in their eyes. You do it; you’re done. When they get older they no longer wish to please Dad and Mom so they quit church, and the reason is that they were never saved in the first place. The greatest reason is because no one is crying in the wilderness; there is no accountability in the church; and frankly many old members are not saved. Why do I say that, because after 50 years they still do not know their Bibles.”

I agree with these testimonies and observations. Unless young people are truly born again, they will not have spiritual discernment and power and they will not be able to withstand the fierce attacks from the world, the flesh, and the devil. Bible commentator Charles Bridges made the following wise comment on Proverbs 2:10-22:

“The various snares for the young, about to be detailed, furnish a fearful picture of the temptations to which our children are exposed. Will it not awaken our earnest cries for their deep and solid conversion to God; that wisdom may indeed enter into their hearts, and its pleasures be really enjoyed; that they may have a religious taste, as well as a religious education; that they may know the Gospel, not only in the conviction of their conscience, or the excitement of their feelings, but in the entire renewal of their hearts before God? This, and nothing less, will preserve them from the snare of their cruel foe. Every town and village swarms with his emissaries.”

Of course, we cannot produce the new birth in young people, but there are many things that parents and churches can do to see that young people experience God’s miracle working power.

Bobby Mitchell, pastor of Mid-Coast Baptist Church in Brunswick, Maine, is a second generation Baptist pastor. In fact, he and his father started this church together. When I asked them to get together and discuss the question of “why kids leave our churches,” they sent me 14 points, the first of which is the following:

“Many are not genuinely converted because of the watered down Gospel presentations that are so prevalent. They are told to acknowledge a few facts; they are led in a prayer; then they are told to never doubt their experience. Of course, over time, if they are never genuinely converted, they either continue on trying to ‘fit the mold’ of their church, or they just walk away from it when they are able.”

The church that I grew up in was a typical Southern Baptist congregation. Only a few of the young people “stuck.” Most left church when they reached adolescence. As I look back, I can see that lack of salvation was a major problem. My “conversion” was typical. I made a profession of faith at about age 10 during a summer Vacation Bible School, but it was void of spiritual reality. There was no change in my life. There was no passion for Christ; no love for the Bible; no earnest seeking after God’s will. My passion was pleasure and my God was self. As soon as I could, I quit church. Why? I had never been born again, and that was the condition of most if not all of the members of the youth department. I cannot remember even one young person in that church that was serious about the things of God.

My best friends were worldly, and I recall an occasion when I was walking in an orange grove with two church kids and another kid who didn’t attend church. He was our “ring leader.” We ran around together and got into a lot of worldly mischief together, but for some reason we were trying to get him to attend a special meeting at church. He turned around and exclaimed, “Why should I? You don’t live any different than I do.” That stopped our mouths, because he was dead right!

The thing that was missing was biblical repentance. I “believed” in Jesus, as the devils believe in God, but it was not a saving belief. Repentance is mentioned 60 times in the New Testament. It was preached by John the Baptist, by Christ, by Peter, and by Paul. Christ commanded that we preach repentance as part of the Great Commission (Luke 24:47). The message that the apostle Paul preached was “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21). Repentance is a change mind about God and sin that results in a change of life. It means to turn around, to change directions. It involves surrender to God’s rule. Repentance is not works. It is a change of mind, not a change of life; but true repentance will result in a change of life. Many who “believe” and “pray the sinner’s prayer” have no intention to change. They are not interested in being a disciple of Christ. They remain self-centered, merely wanting a ticket to heaven that keeps them from hell but allows them to continue to live as they please, but that is not biblical salvation.

Repentance is illustrated in many places in Scripture. The Prodigal Son “came to himself” (Holy Spirit-wrought conviction and enlightenment), humbled himself, acknowledged his sin against God and against his father, and turned around so that he was facing in a different direction (Luke 15:17-20). Zacchaeus was converted so dramatically that he became an honest man who paid back those he had cheated (Luke 19:8). And this change occurred in one moment! The Thessalonians “turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God” (1 Thess. 1:9). That is biblical repentance.

Jesus said that salvation is a conversion experience. “Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3). He said, further, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). The new birth conversion is not a life-long process; it is a dramatic, supernatural, life-changing event!

This is what young people need. This will change their lives and set their feet in a new direction and give them spiritual conviction. When you are born again, you receive the Holy Spirit as your Teacher and Helper and Convictor. You can still sin, but you are changed and you don’t want to sin. And when you do sin, the Lord chastens you. The Bible says that “if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons” (Hebrews 12:8). Those who leave church and go out into the world, as I did in high school, and do not return, have never been saved. It is that simple.

The Bible warns that it is possible to profess Christ without possessing Christ. Consider the following powerful Scriptures which describe multitudes of young people in Bible-believing churches:

“They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate” (Titus 1:16).

“He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (1 John 2:4).

One man replied to our questionnaire with the following sad but all-too-typical testimony,

“Having taught in my church’s Christian school, I truly believe that out of an enrollment of 40-50 kids, most likely more than 95% were lost. It breaks my heart to see so many young people have a head knowledge of Christ, but they have never truly believed from the heart. What concerns me even more than that is that many parents and even church leaders seem to not want to acknowledge the reality of the situation. We comfort ourselves with the fact that our kids memorize Bible verses and come to church, when in reality most of them come because Mom or Dad makes them, and then during the services most of them are sleeping, laughing and talking to their friends, or checking their cell phones. Most youth groups in Independent Baptist Churches are an absolute joke. My wife and I spent 20 months on deputation visiting Independent Baptist Churches, and we could not believe some of the things we were seeing from the youth groups. It is high time that Independent Baptist churches face the issue of our unconverted youth, because if we don’t our churches are headed for disaster.”

It is not enough to “believe in Jesus.” Even the devils believe (James 2:19). In fact, the devils tremble, which is far more than the average “Christian” young person does!

The Bible says that many believed in Jesus but He did not commit Himself to them, because He knew they weren’t saved (John 2:23-25). They weren’t believing in Him as Lord and Saviour; they were believing in Him as someone to provide their needs and protect them from their enemies.

Jesus warned that many of those who claim to know Him are deceived.

“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:22-23).
No sinless perfectionism

Let me hasten to say that when I talk about a genuine spiritual conversion, I am not talking about attaining some level of sinless perfection. The apostle John plainly declared that “if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8). Biblical salvation is not sinless perfection in this present life; it is the impartation of new spiritual life that must “grow in grace” (2 Peter 3:18). Salvation has a positional aspect and a practical aspect. There is relationship and fellowship. On the one hand the believer has already put off the old man with his deeds positionally (Col. 3:9). This refers to his new position in Christ. Before God the believer is clothed in Christ’s righteousness (2 Cor. 5:21). On the other hand the believer is instructed to put off the old man and put on the new practically (Ephesians 4:22-24). This is in the sense of his walk in this present world. The true believer will give evidence of this by his changed life and his new attitude toward God’s Word (John 8:47), but the daily battle with the “old man” is still a very real thing in his life.
Not saying that children can’t be saved

I am also not saying that a child cannot be saved at an early age. Jesus said, “Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God” (Luke 18:16). I believe that many children that grow up in Christian homes do come to Christ at an early age, but then they surrender to the Lord in a more conscious, informed way when they reach adolescence. One pastor wrote,

“When kids grow up in Christian homes, they may accept salvation at an early age, but they aren’t really old enough yet to make a decision to commit to follow God instead of the world. Both my wife and I remember vividly deciding NOT to follow the popular folks in our high schools and to try to follow the Bible. She was saved at around age five, but she remembers vividly deciding in 11th grade to follow the Bible. I grew up on the mission field and was saved in second grade, but I, too, remember the moment I decided not to run with the crowd and to go with God. In my opinion, signing up to follow Christ occurs sometime in high school even though salvation may occur many years before. Christian parents who themselves were saved as adults may not be aware of this two-step process.”

I am convinced there is much truth to this testimony and that this “two-step process” does happen in some cases, but we must hasten to add that salvation involves repentance even if it occurs in childhood and it will make a difference in the child’s life.
Receiving Church Members

One key in this issue is for churches to be very careful in receiving members. Too many churches are careless about this most important matter. They accept a “profession of faith” regardless of how empty. In our church in South Asia, we try to be very careful about this, not only to keep the church pure but also so that we do not give unsaved people a false hope of salvation by receiving them into membership. When someone professes Christ, we deal with them as carefully as possible to ascertain if they have been saved. Next they go through a baptismal class in which they are again taught about salvation and baptism. At the end of that, the individuals who are seeking baptism come one by one before the church leaders and their wives and give their personal testimonies, and the leaders have an opportunity to ask questions if things aren’t clear. If the leaders are not united in their opinion that a certain individual is saved, we do not baptize him until the doubt has been resolved. Those who are accepted, then stand before the church and again give their testimonies. Only then do we baptize them and bring them into membership. Man cannot see the heart, and we cannot be 100% sure of anyone’s salvation, but we can hear the testimony and see the life.

One of the reasons why I am committed to this system is my own sad experience as an unsaved church member.
Quick Prayerism

The Quick Prayerism methodology that has permeated most fundamentalist churches has contributed greatly to the acceptance of empty professions. I call it Quick Prayerism because it is quick to get someone to pray a sinner’s prayer before they have had an opportunity to thoroughly understand the gospel and quick to give them assurance and report them as a salvation statistic when there is no evidence that they have actually been saved.

This was the methodology that I was taught as a student at Tennessee Temple in the 1970s. I worked in the church’s huge bus ministry and pastored one of its 60 chapels. We were taught a form of salesmanship. We were shown how to manipulate people into praying a sinner’s prayer. As a result, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and the surrounding area for a radius of a hundred miles was filled with people who had “prayed the prayer” but lived like the devil. In those days Highland Park Baptist Church, the home of Tennessee Temple, reported massive numbers of “salvations” each year, but if you examined the statistics, you found that they were largely empty. Of every 100 that “prayed the prayer,” a frightfully high percentage gave no evidence of possessing biblical salvation.

We shouldn’t rush when it comes to this most important thing in life. I’m not saying that there is no urgency about salvation. I’m saying that we should take the time to do the job right. The farmer who wants a good crop has to honor the laws of sowing and reaping. Instead of trying to get people “saved” in a few minutes time at a church altar and being forced to be hasty, why not take them into another room and deal with them for as long as it takes, whether that means an hour or several days or weeks? Why rush people into praying a sinner’s prayer when we have just met them and have presented a brief Romans Road salvation plan? Why not spend some time with them and explain the gospel clearly and try to make sure not only that they understand but that they have repented and put their faith in Christ in a saving manner?

If an individual is not willing to listen to the Bible’s teaching, he certainly isn’t ready to be saved. You can’t trick someone into be saved! In South Asia, it typically takes a Hindu weeks and months of hearing the gospel and attending church before he is ready to be saved. And, typically, people in North America, England, Australia, and Europe today are as biblically ignorant of the gospel as a Hindu in Nepal. We need to make sure that they properly understand such foundational things as God’s holiness and justice, the fall and sin, and Christ’s atonement. We need to make sure that they are not merely reinterpreting what we are saying in light of what they have previously believed. It is one thing for a person to admit that he is a sinner in the sense of not being perfect, but it is quite another for him to acknowledge that he is the sinner that the Bible says he is, that even his righteousness is as filthy rags before God (Isaiah 64:6). It is one thing for a person to “believe in Jesus”; it is quite another for him to acknowledge from the heart that Jesus Christ is the only Lord and Saviour.

To get back to our subject, the very first thing we must do, if we want to keep kids from dropping out of church, is to do everything we can to make sure that they are saved. We must not gloss over this. We must not accept an empty profession as salvation. If a young person is a rebel toward authority and his heart goes after the world and he has no passion for Jesus Christ, he is probably lost, it matters not how many “professions” he has made.

This reminds us of the importance of prayer. Salvation is a miracle that only God can perform. We must therefore bathe our soul-winning efforts with prayer so our evangelistic activities do not consist of empty religious works devoid of spiritual power. I am thankful that I had a grandmother that could get hold of the throne of grace through prayer and fasting in behalf of a wayward grandson.
Dealing with Children

We must especially be careful when dealing with children. They naturally want to please adults and are easily manipulated. A helpful book on child evangelism is How Can I Except Some Man Should Guide Me? by Pastor Kerry James Allen (currently out of print). Following is an excerpt:

“Never tell your children they are saved, even after they make a decision. You don’t know that for a fact. Many a well meaning parent has told a child what a child did, when the child doesn’t even know what the child did! Be patient! Many a young person has been convinced of their conversion by a well meaning parent, when the young person himself is not totally convinced. Allow the Holy Spirit to give assurance; that is one of His functions. Never try to lead them in prayer if they do not understand, are not under conviction, and are just not ready. You can’t beg, arm wrestle, or shove someone into the kingdom of God. Give God and His Word a chance, and allow Him to work. He promised He will!” (How Can I Except Some Man Should Guide Me? p. 47).

In the following testimony, Pastor David Sorenson, Northstar Baptist Church, Duluth, Minnesota, explains how easy it is for a young person growing up in church to make a false profession of faith:

I believe one problem in many Christian homes is that the children have made professions of faith, but have never actually been born again. ... A child who has a divinely created new nature within his or her heart will be spiritually sympathetic to being trained in righteousness. ... Therefore, it is of utmost importance that we carefully instruct and coach our children about salvation. ...

[I have known of many young people who] professed to be saved in their childhood; but in reality, they were never born again. They went through the motions and walked an aisle. They learned the language, but they were never regenerated. ...

As a boy of five, I had gone (or been taken) forward in an evangelistic meeting. I do not know who the preacher was. I do not remember what the sermon was about. In fact, as I recall, I slept through much of the service. I have absolutely no recollection of who prayed with me or how I was dealt with in the prayer room. ... After that meeting, I was coached to tell others that I had gotten saved. Therefore, over the next fifteen years, if someone asked me if I was saved, I would reply, ‘Oh yes. I was saved when I was five years old.’ Now, I believe that five-year-old children can be saved, but I do not believe that I was saved then. If it had not been for faithful parents who continued to pray for me over those years, I may not have been genuinely converted when I was in Bible college. I believe in my case and in many others, there was a lack of conviction about sin and its consequences in both heart and mind. It is a crucial prerequisite to the new birth. ...

In Bible college, I was searching spiritually. I went to a spiritual leader and told him of my heart’s confusion. He dismissed my concern and told me I was just seeking assurance of my salvation. Well, as it turned out, what I really was seeking was salvation. ... If your children come to you and tell you they are not sure that they are saved, treat it as though they have never made any profession of faith. You do not know their hearts; only God does. Beware of saying, ‘Oh, honey, you took care of that a long time ago. Don’t you remember?’ It may be that the Holy Ghost is dealing in his heart. Do not assume that because he has gone through the motions that he is born again. ...

[Saving] faith includes repentance. Repentance is not doing anything. It is not a deed, act, work, or rite. Rather, it is a change of the direction of one’s heart. It basically means an attitude of the heart in turning from sin and self and turning to God. That’s what Paul was referring to in Acts 20:21 when he referred to ‘repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.’ Saving faith is the human heart turning to God and then trusting in Jesus Christ. ... Even as there is the part of trusting Christ, there is also the part of turning to Him. That may seem inconsequential, but I believe that here is a spiritual reason that some go through the motions of believing in Christ but are not really born again. They seemingly want the fire escape but there is no interest in turning to God. There is no interest in repentance. They have the attitude, ‘God, gimme salvation, but I’m gonna keep on doing my own thing.’ ... However, if there is no real turning to God from the heart, they have missed the prerequisite for actually trusting Christ. ...

As a young man in my junior year at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, God convicted me. I had never really been saved though I had been a professing Christian for the preceding 15 years. ... I began to think back over my life to that point. I knew that the Bible taught that ‘if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature’ (2 Corinthians 5:17). I knew that if a person was really saved, there would be an interest in the things of God. There would be some sort of internal aversion to sin. Anyone who knew me during my teenage years would have remembered me as a rebellious preacher’s kid.

I had absolutely no interest in the things of God. I only went to church because my dad was the pastor, and I had to go. I could not have cared less about the Bible. Things like witnessing and having a testimony were about as alien to me as living in Afghanistan. I loved the things of the world. My mind and my vocabulary were as foul as any one else in the world. I thought like the world thought. I liked what the world did, and I wanted to do what the world did. Only the strictness of my upbringing and of the college I was attending prevented me from actually doing a significant amount of it.

I lay there on my bed that morning in November 1966. As I mulled all of this over in my mind, I knew that I had no recollection of conviction when I went forward as a boy. I reflected over the fact that there had never been any change in my life spiritually that I could remember. I knew the sinfulness of my heart as a 20-year-old college student, and I considered the lack of interest in the things of God in my life.

Slowly that November morning, the Holy Spirit convicted me of the fact that I had never really been saved. I had gone through the motions of it as a small boy and had professed salvation all those years. For the first time in my life it was dawning on me that I was not saved, and for someone who had assumed himself to be saved for the past 15 years, it came as quite some shock. ... As I thought about the situation, it suddenly dawned upon me, ‘If I am not saved, then I am on my way to hell.’ I had never in my entire life given any serious consideration to that fact. It kind of shook me up. ... I realized that I was dealing with a serious matter. After wrestling spiritually with the conviction of the Holy Spirit for some time, I knew I had to settle the matter. I knelt beside my bed and prayed, ‘Dear Lord, I know I am a sinner. I really don’t know what happened when I was five years old. But I don’t think I really was saved then. Oh Lord, please save me and cleanse me of my sins and give me eternal life.’

There were no bolts of lightning or thunder claps, but a peace swept across my soul. I knew I had settled the matter. There no longer was any doubt. I had trusted Christ and I knew it. I claimed Romans 10:13, ‘For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.’ This time there had been a clear understanding of my lost condition, and this time there was a deep willingness to turn to Christ and trust Him. Praise the Lord, He saved me.

Very soon thereafter, my life began to make some radical changes.

The foundational element in “keeping the kids” for Christ is in doing everything we can to make sure that they know Christ personally.

The following is excerpted from the book KEEPING THE KIDS: HOW TO KEEP THE CHILDREN FROM FALLING PREY TO THE WORLD, which is available in print and eBook editions from Way of Life Literature. It is not enough to tell children what to do; they must be taught to apply God’s Word to their daily lives, and toward this end the book provides many powerful Bible lessons on practical Christian living, such as biblical principles for testing entertainment, principles for television and movie viewing, principles for judging clothing fashions, for making wise decisions, and for knowing God’s will. The book contains pointers for winning children that are already rebellious. There is also an extensive list of recommended resources. HYMN "IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL"

Horatio Gates Spafford
1828-1888

Born: October 20, 1828, North Troy, New York.
Died: October 16, 1888, Jerusalem, Israel, of malaria.

HYMN HISTORY:

This hymn was written by a Chicago lawyer, Horatio G. Spafford. You might think to write a worship song titled, 'It is well with my soul', you would indeed have to be a rich, successful Chicago lawyer. But the words, "When sorrows like sea billows roll ... It is well with my soul”, were not written during the happiest period of Spafford's life. On the contrary, they came from a man who had suffered almost unimaginable personal tragedy.

Horatio G. Spafford and his wife, Anna, were pretty well-known in 1860’s Chicago. And this was not just because of Horatio's legal career and business endeavors. The Spaffords were also prominent supporters and close friends of D.L. Moody, the famous preacher. In 1870, however, things started to go wrong. The Spaffords' only
son was killed by scarlet fever at the age of four. A year later, it was fire rather than fever that struck. Horatio had invested heavily in real estate on the shores of Lake Michigan. In 1871, every one of these holdings was wiped out by the great Chicago Fire.

Aware of the toll that these disasters had taken on the family, Horatio decided to take his wife and four daughters on a holiday to England. And, not only did they need the rest -- DL Moody needed the help. He was traveling around Britain on one of his great evangelistic campaigns. Horatio and Anna planned to join Moody in late 1873.

And so, the Spaffords traveled to New York in November, from where they were to catch the French steamer 'Ville de Havre' across the Atlantic. Yet just before they set sail, a last-minute business development forced Horatio to delay. Not wanting to ruin the family holiday, Spafford persuaded his family to go as planned. He would follow on later. With this decided, Anna and her four daughters sailed East to Europe while Spafford returned West to Chicago. Just nine days later, Spafford received a telegram from his wife in Wales. It read: "Saved alone."

On November 2nd 1873, the 'Ville de Havre' had collided with 'The Lochearn', an English vessel. It sank in only 12 minutes, claiming the lives of 226 people. Anna Spafford had stood bravely on the deck, with her daughters Annie, Maggie, Bessie and Tanetta clinging desperately to her. Her last memory had been of her baby being
torn violently from her arms by the force of the waters. Anna was only saved from the fate of her daughters by a plank which floated beneath her unconscious body and propped her up. When the survivors of the wreck had been rescued, Mrs. Spafford's first reaction was one of complete despair. Then she heard a voice speak to her,
"You were spared for a purpose." And she immediately recalled the words of a friend, "It's easy to be grateful and good when you have so much, but take care that you are not a fair-weather friend to God."

Upon hearing the terrible news, Horatio Spafford boarded the next ship out of New York to join his bereaved wife. Bertha Spafford (the fifth daughter of Horatio and Anna born later) explained that during her father's voyage, the captain of the ship had called him to the bridge. "A careful reckoning has been made", he said, "and I believe we are now passing the place where the de Havre was wrecked. The water is three miles deep." Horatio then returned to his cabin and penned the lyrics of his great hymn.

The words which Spafford wrote that day come from 2 Kings 4:26. They echo the response of the Shunammite woman to the sudden death of her only child. Though we are told "her soul is vexed within her", she still maintains that 'It is well." And Spafford's song reveals a man whose trust in the Lord is as unwavering as hers
was.

It would be very difficult for any of us to predict how we would react under circumstances similar to those experienced by the Spaffords. But we do know that the God who sustained them would also be with us.

No matter what circumstances overtake us may we be able to say with Horatio Spafford...

When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ hath regarded my helpless estate,

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The source of Mr. Spafford's strength is an open secret. It is available to you and will enable you to live victoriously. It is found first of all in forgiveness of sins.

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

To know one's sins are forgiven brings great release, for "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
1 John 1:9 He removes our sins as far as the east is from the west and buries them in the deepest seas.

Another source of strength is the knowledge that God works all things together for good to them that love Him (Romans 8:28). God's unfailing love enables us to be masters of our circumstances, instead of its victim.

Finally, the sure hope of the resurrection is an unbound source of strength. The hope of reunion with loved ones, the joy of seeing our Lord face to face supply strength enough and to spare to face all of life's trials and fill us with "joy unspeakable and full of glory" 1 Peter 1:8.

“I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE” – JESUS CHRIST
Text: John 6:25-59

Deuteronomy 8:3 – “that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.”

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.”

INTRODUCTION: Bread is food for the body, that is, physical bread made of flour and other necessary ingredients. One can live literally on bread alone from day to day and physically live. The people in the context of John 6 where those who experienced the feeding of the five thousand excluding women & children .

They wanted for the LORD to continually supply and feed them with loaves of bread . They did not understand Him when He said: “I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE”. He meant another kind of Bread, that is, spiritual bread, that is able to meet man’s greatest need, the need for their sins to be forgiven, to become rightly related with the LORD, become God’s children, and receive the gift of eternal life, the assurance of heaven as one’s eternal abode after physical death. This is the end result of one who “eats” The Bread of Life, even the LORD Jesus Christ!

Yet, this is not what the LORD obviously meant when He said: “Man shall not live by bread alone.” He was not referring to loaves of bread baked out of the oven. What He meant was about “Spiritual Bread”, the kind that produces a relationship between a Holy God and Sinful Man and grants eternal life to the one who “partakes” of this “Spiritual Bread”.

NOW WHAT IS THIS BREAD?

1) This “spiritual bread” which is the “True Bread” comes from heaven. And
the Source of this True Bread is God the Father (John 6:32);

2) This “Spiritual Bread” is the bread of God, who cometh down from heaven, and
giveth life unto the world
(John 6:33 cp v. 38, 50 & 58);

3) John 6:35 - Identifies WHO the Bread of Life is! No other than The LORD Jesus
Christ is “The Bread of Life” by His own admission and declaration when He
said: I AM the Bread of Life;

4) To partake of the Bread of Life ,who is the LORD Jesus Christ, is to “BELIVE
ON HIM, that is, on Jesus Christ! Such belief on the LORD Jesus Christ results in
a person having everlasting life (John 6:40 cp v. 47);

5) This Bread of Life, who is the LORD Jesus Christ, is The Living Bread!
The person who “eats” this Living Bread” shall live forever (John 6:51);

6) In John 6:56 & 58 – the LORD SAID: “He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my
blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.”

The person who “EATS” this Spiritual Bread, which is the True Bread of Life, the Living Bread, who is the LORD JESUS, is the person who BELIEVES ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AS ONE’S PERSONAL SAVIOR AND LORD! (Mark 1:15; John 1:12-13; 3:16-18; 36; 5:24; 14:6; Acts 3:19; 4:12; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 2:8-10).

Such authentic, genuine and true belief on the LORD Jesus Christ results in a changed and transformed life. The person becomes a new creature in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17); a follower of the LORD, thus becoming a disciple of the LORD Jesus Christ and a student of His Precious Pure Words, the Holy Bible, for the rest of one’s physical life.

IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO HEAVEN?

To the Reader:

One may be an evangelical but not necessarily an authentic, genuine & true believer in the LORD Jesus Christ. This is true to millions of evangelical protestants all over the world who are not truly saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8-9); and redeemed and justified by the BLOOD of the Lamb of God (Romans 5:9); born again by the Spirit of the Living God (John 3:1-7).

Many are in truth and in fact mere professors and not possessors of the great salvation that the LORD has made available to all through JESUS CHRIST ALONE (John 14:6). And so, multitudes are deceived, believing their own way of salvation that literally are bringing them straight to hellfire.

One may even be a baptized member of an organized Christian church such as The Wesleyan, The FourSquare, The Baptist, The Assembly of God and many other Christian churches and fellowships. Such membership does not guarantee one's salvation, for salvation is of the LORD Jesus Christ Alone!

Without Jesus Christ as one's personal Savior and LORD, such a person is literally on his way to hell even the Lake of Fire and it is not the will of the God of Holy Scriptures. The truth of the matter for salvation, is that the LORD said in Matthew 7:14 "and few there be that find it". Meaning that millions are going to be unpleasantly surprised, to say it very mildly, thinking that they are going to heaven but actually are doomed and will be damned to hell by their refusal to BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST ALONE!

The Pure Gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ is an all exclusive means of Salvation. All other ways of salvation is a futile endeavor of finite, puny man to try and reach Almighty God through his own efforts. Such is assured of HIS PLACE in hell even the Lake of Fire (Rev. 20:10; 21:8 KJBible) for it is unacceptable to the God of Holy Scriptures.

“CONSERVATIVE EVANGELICAL” HYPOCRISY

Some of the “conservative” evangelicals are criticizing Rob Bell in a pretty strong way. John Piper tweeted,
“Good bye, Rob Bell.” Albert Mohler, Jr. of Southern Baptist Seminary described Bell’s view as “Velvet Hell.” I’m glad to see a bit of backbone among some evangelicals and a level of doctrinal conviction that would drive them to actually name
the name of a false teacher, but it appears very hypocritical at the same time.

The view that atheists and pagan religionists might be saved without submitting to Jesus Christ is not new. Billy Graham has been saying it for decades, but I don’t recall any outcry from the evangelical world, including from Graham’s own denomination, the Southern Baptist Convention.

In an interview with McCall’s magazine, January 1978, entitled
“I Can’t Play God Any More,” Graham said: “I used to believe that pagans in far-off countries were lost—were going to hell—if they did not have the Gospel of Jesus Christ preached to them. I no longer believe that. … I believe that there
are other ways of recognizing the existence of God—through nature, for instance—and plenty of other opportunities, therefore, of saying ‘yes’ to God.”

In 1985, Graham affirmed his belief that those outside of Christ might be saved. Los Angeles reporter David Colker asked Graham: “What about people of other faiths who live good lives but don’t profess a belief in Christ?”
Graham replied, “I’m going to leave that to the Lord. He’ll decide that”
(Los Angeles Herald Examiner, July 22, 1985).

In 1993, Graham repeated this doctrine in an interview with David Frost.
“And I think there is that hunger for God and people are living as best they know how according to the light that they have. Well, I think they’re in a separate category than people like Hitler and people who have just defied God, and shaken their fists at God.
… I would say that God, being a God of mercy, we have to rest it right there, and say that
God is a God of mercy and love, and how it happens, we don’t know” (The Charlotte Observer, Feb. 16, 1993).

In an interview with Robert Schuller in May 1997, Graham again said that he believes people in other religions can be saved without consciously believing in Jesus Christ.
“[God’s] calling people out of the world for His name,
WHETHER THEY COME FROM THE MUSLIM WORLD,
OR THE BUDDHIST WORLD, OR THE CHRISTIAN WORLD OR THE NON-BELIEVING WORLD,
THEY ARE MEMBERS OF THE BODY OF CHRIST BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN CALLED BY GOD.
THEY MAY NOT EVEN KNOW THE NAME OF JESUS but they know
in their hearts that they need something that they don't have, and they turn to the only
light that they have, and I think that they are saved, and that they're going to be with us in heaven”

HUNGERING FOR THE WORD OF GOD

The Voice of the Martyrs magazine tells of two Hmong Christians who walked more than 500 kilometers to meet some missionaries to get some Bibles in their language. Their journey had taken more than three weeks. They were wearing rubber sandals; their faces were burned by the hot sun. They visited for an hour, put the Bibles in their bags, went outside, looked both ways and started their journey back to their village. A round trip journey on foot that took more than six weeks and covered over 1000 km. I wonder where they found food, where they slept, so many things go through my mind but most of all I think of so many of our people with every blessing on earth at their hands and their Bibles seldom opened and read.

A NATION DEDICATED TO IDOLS

The Philippines is known as the “only Christian nation” in Asia. This is principally because of the fact, that majority of the more than 90 million Filipinos, are Roman Catholics. This notion is misleading for there is no distinction made whatsoever as to what constitute a “Christian Nation”.

The truth of the matter is: the Philippines is a NATION OF IDOLATERS. First, because of the fact that Roman Catholicism, being the major religion, is an idolatrous religious system. Second, because our country is in fact not a Christian nation in the real sense of the word, Biblically speaking.

At the beginning of every New Year, the month of January ushers in the celebration and commemoration of numerous Roman Catholic Feasts that millions of our fanatic, spiritually deceived countrymen religiously follow from year to year. The first of these feasts is: the feast of the Black Nazarene of the Roman Catholic Church in Quiapo, City of Manila last January 9th. This was front page in the Philippine Daily Inquirer dated January 10th titled: Millions escort Black Nazarene by DJ Yap, Marlon Ramos and Jaymee T. Gamil. Another article titled: Women devotees join mad frenzy for flowers by Jocelyn R. Uy. It was estimated that the crowd who attended and participated was about 1.5 million.

The second was January 16th. PDI’s front page picture was that of the Santo Nino. This is the “Sinulog Festival” held every 3rd Sunday of January in Cebu. The PDI front page article titled: Sinulog: Why Pinoys are dancing, singing devotees of the Child Jesus by Jhunnex Napallacan and Chris Evert Lato.

The January 17th edition of PDI, had for its front page SEA OF FAITH, a picture of a mammoth crowd, inspite of a heavy downpour of rain, devotees of the Sto. Nino joining the procession along Jones Avenue in Cebu City during Sunday’s 445th celebration of the “Sinulog Festival” in honor of the city’s patron.

Our nation has in truth and in fact been dedicated by the Roman Catholic Church here in the Philippines to Mary and the Sto. Nino, the mother and child tandem of idolatry. All over our nation, statues of the Virgin Mary have been erected, prominent of which is the one in EDSA and Ortigas Avenue known as the EDSA Shrine and just recently, the statue erected in C-5.

And so, the Filipino people has been deceived by the Deceiver, Satan himself through this damnable and false religious system, which is Roman Catholicism.

The Bible, God’s Precious Pure Word is very clear as to what idolatry is. It is a sin so grievous in the eyes of the God of Holy Scriptures, that He considers it an “abomination”. In the Pilipino language it is “Karumaldumal”!

Exodus 20: 3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

It is an “abominable sin” that a jealous, just, holy and righteous God extremely hates. The truth is that a person, more so, a whole nation which is guilty of the sin of idolatry hates God. This is the clear and straightforward teaching of the Bible. And unless and until such an idolatrous person, and for that matter a nation, truly repents and turn away from this sin, God’s judgment will surely come to pass.

Therefore, every authentic, genuine, true born again Christian, saved by grace and redeemed by the BLOOD of the Lamb of God, the LORD Jesus Christ (John 3:1-7; Eph. 2:8-10; Hebrews 9:11-14; 22), must in all honesty and truthfulness confront and expose the unbiblical teachings of this idolatrous religious system that has shackled tens of millions of our people.

If we fail to do this, either by the sin of omission which is neglect or because of the “fear of man”, then the LORD God will require the blood (Ezekiel 3:16-21; 33:7-9) of these our countrymen in the hands of God’s people.

Let us ask the LORD our God to fill our hearts with love and compassion for our countrymen, shackled by the sin of idolatry. And with holy boldness confront them, compelled and constrained (2 Corinthians 5:14 KJBible) by the love of Christ sharing the pure Gospel of Salvation which is through faith in the LORD Jesus Christ alone!

Nais mo bang maranasan sa bawat araw ng bagong taong ito ang kabutihan at katapatan ng Panginoon ng Banal na Kasulatan? Walang pasubaling nais mo ang Kanyang kabutihan sa yong buhay. Nararapat na malaking “OO” at AMEN! ang katugunan sa katanungan binangit, walang iba.

Nais mo rin bang matiyak ang patuloy na pag-papala, pag-iingat, pangangalaga, patnubay at pangunguna sayo at sa yong sambayanan sa bawat sandali, araw, linggo at buwan ng bagong taong 2011 ng Panginoong Diyos na si Jesu Kristo?

Lamentations 3:22-23
22It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
